The Otamatone musical toy 'sings' the notes of a tune, similar to that of a human voice. Cleverly shaped as a musical note, it consists of a touch sensitive stem that gives you the notes and vibrato function. To play, touch and slide your fingers up and down the stem and create the ultimate waaah waaah effect by squeezing the cheeks of the face at the base of the note. Designed as one of the musical instruments of the Japanese Maywa Denki Voice Project, the Otamatone was developed for a special exhibition to see whether machines sing like a human being. Simple to play and great fun - no previous musical experience is required. After all, this singing instrument does have musical atttributes such as three octave settings which can be changed with a flick of a switch, although you can play a complete tune in just one octave range. Plus, it has two volume settings, just in case you infuriate the neighbours by attempting to finger 'Stairway to Heaven' or 'Smoke on the Water'. Remember, it's not a guitar, it's an electronic crazy sounding 'singing Toy'. In fact with a little 'practice' you'll be 'play' your favourite tunes in no time.
